Dirt is fun. Came around a corner hot and some dirt bike/quad guys gave me a thumbs up. Go drift your car dammit.
*Milky is not responsible if you crash.

Big deal, guy. I can drift my pickup unintentionally on busy roads during rainfall... Scares the shit out of me.

Hey, you’d be the perfect mustang owner! How about you come down to my dealership for a test look-because-theres-no-fucking-way-we’re-letting-you-drive-without-buying-first?

That was on dry cement and a lot faster. I learned my lesson.
Kind of.

No other lives were in danger. Did do some hooning though.

I know you’re just making a Mustang C&C joke, but I think I could go the rest of my life without ever stepping foot on a dealer lot ever again.

How can you tell me to hoon responsibly when your logo features your mascot ghost riding the whip upside down?!

I meant it more for everyone else in this case. Sorta like your “Milky is not responsible if you crash” disclaimer

Ahh I got it now.

I took one of those for a rip the other day. If I fit better, it would have been on the list. I had some entertainment. The owner stopped cringing eventually.

If I had more time/needed my job less I might just film myself hooning my Crossfire on back roads constantly.

Your truck needs better tires... Well that said, the MJ’s tires aren’t bad but it’ll break them loose on wet roads pretty easy too. I just haven’t done it by mistake yet (and/or without hammering the load pedal).

My favourite roads aren’t paved.
I do try to keep my speed a little bit lower than I would though because this road’s limit is 60 km/h (40mph) and there’s often touristy traffic doing something less than half the limit down the middle of the road. If I don’t work at keeping my speed down to around 80 or so (it’s intolerable any slower due to the washboarding) I’ve often found myself entering some of the faster corners at nearly 120 (70?). And even I know that’s way too fast for a public gravel road with blind corners.

Ha sounds like a good time. I barely fit at 6' and thats just how I like it.

Dirt is good when it isn’t washboard. Luckily where I was gets so little traffic thats not a problem. Same with coming across other drivers.
The negative being a couple spots were really sandy. Was worried about making it through if I’m honest.

I’m long in the body at 5'11". I never fit anywhere.

Dirt is fun. So is gravel. I wish there was some around here.

The above road gets pretty swampy, especially in the spring. It was actually closed for over a month this spring because it kept getting washed out. They’d fix one spot only to find another spot blown out or under water. There’s a permanent weight restriction somewhere around 6500lbs, it’s in metric and some stupid number ending with a non-zero digit so I don’t remember it exactly.
There isn’t usually much traffic on the road either (it’s rare to encounter more than one other vehicle in the 20-mile length) but my experience is that 50% of the traffic you’ll encounter will be right at the apex of the corner, and 50% of those cars will be using a grossly inappropriate part of the road.
The washboard is mostly cause by the artificially low speed limit. Everyone pokes along at 60 if they aren’t going much slower than that. Everyone driving the same speed leads to the bouncing, rhythmic, evenly spaced washboard, as the tires spin as they get airborne over the bump and then carve out a little more of the depression at the landing.

I used to live on a dirt road and found that at 60mph in my jeep it hovered over washboards, also this is way too true.

Nothing like coming around a blind right hander so far to right your wheels are riding the ditch then pegging the brakes and getting all kinds of sideways because the car coming at you’s further over than you are...

Y U NO drive 6 more hours and go to LSPR instead? I hit up two former rally stages, then of course volunteered at the actual rally. (Article forthcoming...)

Ha, I was 4 hours from Detroit back home visiting family. Looking forward to reading that article though!

Oh, that’s a great place to call home! I’ve got a Prescott Rally article coming up first, then LSPR.
